Chez Orphee is the only true fine dining restaurant in Bujumbura. The service is great and the owner comes by often to say hi and check that everything is alright. It was our favourite restaurant for the past 2 years we spent in Bujumbura.

Restaurant Chez Orphee has a nice garden like atmosphere. I had a great Carpaccio de Boeuf, drizzled with olive oil and lemon.
One of the highest quality restaurants in town. The atmosphere and decor is beautiful and creative. The food is excellent. Food presentation is beautiful. We have always loved the chicken salad that has been on the menu since the old restaurant. My mother loves it as it is, though I felt there was to much bitter greens this time. We order the cheese to be parmesan and Gouda. Fantastic! The Cordon Bleu is excellent. My father said his fish dish was the best he’s had anywhere. The side of fries and complimentary bread with butter were wonderful. The pasta bolonaise was very good, though maybe not “kid friendly”, as my kids didn’t prefer it. Our guest didn’t like her pesto pasta, but I didn’t try it myself. It was beautifully presented. The Carpaccio was delicious. Will be trying the charcuterie and cheese board next time. The shop out front sells high quality cheeses and other items.
I highly recommend this restaurant! Upon entering, I immediately felt welcomed and at peace. The decoration is cozy and green, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food? The food is some of the best I’ve ever eaten. The salted caramel chocolate dessert is quite possibly the best dessert I have ever tasted. The owners were also extremely kind to help set up a private group dinner. They worked with me to select suitable menu choices and once they dinner began, I was able to sit back and relax because they had everything under control. Again, I highly recommend Restaurant Chez Orphée as a place to relax and enjoy. It is an excellent choice for any meeting: personal or professional.
